Toyota dealers in NJ look forward to a new hybrid concept
What’s smaller than a Prius, very economical and doesn’t have a real name yet? Well, that would be Toyota’s newest concept hybrid, which debuted at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
Toyota dealers in NJ are excited about the new FT-CH, which is part of the Toyota Company’s vision of launching eight new hybrids by 2015. Those hybrids will include plug-ins, hydrogen fuel cell cars and battery electric cars.
The hybrid industry is important because of a need for cleaner and reproducible fuel sources. Toyota Motors President Jim Lentz said, “Within the next 10-20 years, we will not only reach peak oil, we will enter a period where demand for all liquid fuels will exceed supply.”
Every Newark new Toyota dealer is proud to be part of a company that is environmentally aware and working to do the right thing for the customer at the same time. Toyota has consistently worked to make cars that are efficient and eco-friendly while constantly upgrading safety standards.
Lentz continued, “A century after the invention of the automobile, we much re-invent it with powertrains that significantly reduce or eliminate the use of conventional petroleum fuels.” He then summarized what Toyota is doing to produce hybrid and electric vehicles.
And that’s where this as-yet-unnamed car gets its name. The “CH” stands for compact hybrid, though it is only about 22 inches shorter than the current Prius model. Although it is small, it was designed for passenger comfort and maximizes interior space. No specifics yet on features and options, but you can bet they will be similar to popular Prius amenities. Toyota knows a good thing when they create it and with Prius as the best-selling hybrid car around, others are even taking a cue from Toyota.
This car will be hip and trendy, aimed at a younger generation perhaps than even the Prius. It will have a retro look and a lower price, which will not only appeal to the younger buyer, but make it a realistic choice as well. Toyota dealers in NJ have had great success with the Prius and anticipate that the new FT-CH will do just as well, if not better than Prius in sales. This is because it takes all the best qualities of the Prius and makes them smaller and more affordable.
Not only will the FT-CH be lower priced than the Prius, it is lighter and gets better mileage as well. This is just one more area of savings to recommend it to the budget-conscious college student or young family. This model should be in showrooms by April 2011 and your Newark new Toyota dealer will have it waiting for you.
