Identify Your Car

If you ever spend half an hour coming out of the supermarket, trying to indentify your car, then you are not the only one. The frustration and irritation of feeling like you have lost your marbles, wandering around with your bags not being able to locate yours is something that many people across the country can identify with.  It’s fair enough, as cars seem to all be looking very similar these days. Why is this?

Top scientists from Toyota and Chevrolet have confirmed that cars have similar shapes for aerodynamics. If you want to get the maximum out of your fuel, then the car needs to be as aerodynamic as possible leading to many manufacturers using a very similar shape. Likewise, the car has to have a relatively sharp cut off at the back, to detach the air stream from the body of your motor.

If you compare our newer cars to their older counterparts, you can see the simple aesthetic details that are saving us on fuel.  Older cars seem to have window frames that can catch the wind, whereas the newer alternatives are smooth and sleek, with even the door handles being thoroughly thought through to provide us with the most fluid of models.

Future predictions are that designers will delve deeper into the idea or aerodynamics to improve their already much developed ideas.  Maybe out wing mirrors will be replaced with cameras that face backwards, so there is no drag, or grills will be developed to be closable when you do not need them.

With materials and ideas developing no such a quick scale. There may be massive advances just around the corner.  The idea of the bubble car or something made from light fibreglass may be closer than you think.

However the car is made, you will still need Comprehensive Car Insurance to drive on Britain’s roads.
